This week we’ve had Josh with us as he completes his year 10 work experience. If you’re interested in doing school work experience in pyrotechnics then please get in touch.

We’re out at a regular venue this weekend firing a display set to music – Take That.

Meanwhile we are pleased to announce we now have our new phone system installed at our new premises which will allow for the current needs and expansion of the company.

We are available 365 days a year to fire your display… whether it’s a Sunday or Christmas Day – we’ll always have crew available (presuming we’re not fully booked).

Today we were asked by a potential client “what is an aerial shell?”. Well aerial shells are devices lowered into a special firing tube called a mortar tube. On ignition the firework fires up into the sky before exploding into a massive sphere of colour and/or effects.

They come in all sorts of sizes, starting from 50mm up to 400mm, the largest viable in the UK now is 175mm. Different factories produce different qualities and grades. MLE buy the best possible from several factories. This was we can ensure our displays have the brightest colours and the most up to date effects.
